Finite element analysis

F.E.M.

Finite element analysis (FEA) on CAD models allows, starting from the mathematics of the object, to study it from a structural point of view by attributing constraints and loads that simulate its real functioning in terms of tensions, deformations and safety verification: this tool makes it possible to optimize the sizing of the component (thicknesses, reinforcing ribs, etc.) according to the designated material or, alternatively, to guide the designer in the choice of material starting from dimensional and/or weight constraints.

For the structural analysis of the finite elements, Upward uses the COSMOS software in the Professional version, which gives us the opportunity to carry out static and dynamic (fatigue), thermal and frequency studies on 3D models imported from an interchange format (STEP, IGES, PARASOLID and others) or directly created by us through SolidWorks, CAD with which COSMOS is directly integrated.
